The Gulf Stream keeps the water temperatures around Uig's coastline relatively high all year round. Temperatures very rarely go below freezing in the winter and fresh sea breezes and clear blue skies characterise the summers. If you are planning to visit Uig , depending on what you are looking for, some months of the year are better than others. The warmest weather comes between May and September but winter months can be equally as beautiful as you experience invigorating winds and the full force of the Atlantic waves crashing against the sea cliffs and sandy shores. For watersports enthusiasts, the surf gets better from September onwards.
The weather in the Outer Hebrides can be very varied and range from dramatic storms to serene and still summer nights.
To make the most of the weather we therefore recommend that waterproofs and sunblock are both packed, as they may be required on the same day!
