Alternatively there is a CO-OP supermarket on the outskirts of Stornoway on the way to Carnish. The town centre also has a Boots the Chemist and other local stores. We would recommend that you pay a visit to Charles Macleod Butchers (Charley Barleys), an excellent butcher and makers of the famous Stornoway Black Pudding. If you are interested in fishing then a visit to Sportsworld in the centre of town is well worth it. Not only is it well stocked with all types of Angling tackle but they have an extensive knoweledge of island fishing.
3 miles before Carnish there is a well stocked Community Shop open Monday to Saturday. As well as day to day provisions the store has an off-licence, sells coal and logs and petrol.
